Last night in front of a national audience Gareth Jones, our 4Sight Risk Partner’s Managing Director, received the Tour de Cure 2023 Board Award. This award is the highest recognition given by the charity.
Gareth received this honour for his 13 years of dedication to helping cure cancer with Tour de Cure. Gareth shared he was motivated to help cure cancer after watching his loved ones be taken by cancer.
The audience also heard that 13 years ago he signed up with best mate Mark Beretta to do one riding tour and ‘get the shirt’. However, he did not stop after that tour, and Gareth has since ridden an incredible 130 tour days, covering 20,000 kilometres and visiting thousands of Australian communities.
Gareth also introduced Insurance Advisernet to Tour de Cure, who for the last five years have had a corporate partnership that along with his personal fundraising efforts has helped raise over $400,000. Through the partnership and his ambassadorship, he has also inspired many IA Members to ride and support the cause. In addition to this, he has volunteered his time on the charity’s Risk & Audit Committee as well as saved over $225,000 by managing all the charity’s insurances.
Congratulations Gareth on receiving this award. We are very proud of you and inspired by your dedication to making a difference for so many.
PS. Gareth has already signed up for his 14th Tour de Cure Signature Tour. He will be part of a team of 150 covering 1,200km from Hobart to Adelaide in nine days, from the 15th to the 23rd of March 2024, with the goal is to raise $2 million.
